About
Sauna Hype goes back to the papers.
Heat and cold went mainstream in the 2020s. Podcasts turned small studies into daily protocols, and brands built product pages on top of those protocols. The numbers drifted a little at each step.
Sauna Hype is a science publication about that drift. We trace each claim to the study it came from and read the study in full wherever we can reach it. Then the claim gets its reading on the Hype Dial, with every figure linked to its source.
Plenty of what people say about saunas holds up well. The Finnish studies that followed men for twenty years found real, large associations, and newer trials keep adding to them. Cold water has a thinner record and a louder fan base.
Adam Bognar edits the site
Adam also edits Sauna Monthly, the sister magazine that reviews home saunas, heaters and cold plunges. Both are published by The Still Brands Inc.
This is how the two sites fit together
Sauna Hype carries no affiliate links. Sauna Monthly earns commissions on some of the products it reviews, and when a Sauna Hype page points readers there for equipment, the link is marked as Sauna Monthly's.
